Indian Merchants’ Chamber Award for CERC

Consumer Education and Research Centre (CERC), Ahmedabad, has achieved one more feather in its cap. A panel of judges of the Indian Merchants’ Chamber (IMC), Mumbai, has unanimously selected CERC for the IMC’s Diamond Jubilee Endowment Trust Award 2004 for the “Promotion of Savings, Consumer Protection and Export Promotion”.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister, Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh, will present the award to CERC at the Annual General Meeting of the IMC in Mumbai on 21 April 2005.

In a letter, the honorary secretary to the IMC, Mr. P. N. Mogre, invited Prof. Manubhai Shah, Chairman Emeritus, CERC, to attend the ceremony.

Earlier, in 1982, the IMC had honoured CERC with the prestigious Pravin Chandra Gandhi Endowment Award for outstanding contribution to the promotion of consumer protection.
