Consumer Education and Research Centre (CERC) and the
Centre for Environment Education (CEE), Ahmedabad, have jointly organised
a round table on Ecolabelling - Perspectives & Emerging
Trends on 12 March 2007 from 3 to 5.30 p.m. at the CEE, Thaltej
Tekra, Ahmedabad. Dr. Juergen Bischoff, Director, Indo German Environment
Programme, German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), India, will deliver
the Keynote
Address.
The objectives of the round table is to understand
1. the technical barriers faced by producers in acquiring
the eco-label
2. conceptual disparities, if any, on the characterisation
of eco-friendliness of products/processes
3. opportunities for overcoming barriers to help the
eco-label concept gain its rightful place as a tool for integrating
environmental and other developmental considerations.
Prof. Anil Gupta - IIM; Rajan Gandhi - Resident Representative,
New Delhi, CERC, and Director, Safety Action Group; Dinesh Yadav -
CII; Shailesh Patwari - Naroda Environmental Projects; Dr. R. Gopichandran
and Ms. Rasleen Kaur Sahni - CEE; and others will share their views
with the audience.
The Round Table will be open to public.
