The price of a fixed dose combination drug is double that of single drug molecules.

22 brands complied with all the parameters given in the Standards.

  • Atecard-D, manufactured by Dabur, containing atenolol (50mg) with chlorthalidone (12.5mg) did not comply with the dissolution test specified in the US Pharmacopia. The dissolution of chlorthalidone should not be less than 60 per cent. In the case of Atecard-D, it was 31.74 per cent.

  • The brand Zestril was found costlier than the other brands of Lisinopril.
